Resources for Earth Day from CHA

Earth Day is coming up April 22nd and we will posting various resources to help you celebrate the day in your own communities and families.  Here are some ideas and resources from the Catholic Health Association (CHA).

CHA is pleased to share new resources for Earth Day 2016. Developed to provide associates from across the continuum of care with meaningful reflections on the call to Faithfully Heal the Earth, we hope they will be used widely in your organization. Some suggested uses include:

·         Playing the reflection videos on media in your offices, care units, waiting areas, staff areas, cafeterias.
·         Posting the prayer and video reflections on your intranet.
·         Printing the hardcopy prayer and making it available in chapels, break rooms, volunteer and nursing stations.
·         Sharing the prayer and reflections by email and in any electronic newsletters.
·         Tweeting and posting the reflections and prayer on social media, as well as your organizations specific activities on Earth Day.

CHA Resources
CHA has developed several new items and also is highlighting more recent resources — all relevant and timely for Earth Day. They include:
  • Video: That All May Flourish – A Meditation for Earth Day. This video (3:08) includes vivid photos and a moving meditative text that will walk viewers through a reflection on our call to be good stewards of God's creation.
  • Prayer. This hardcopy prayer is a companion piece to the video, That All May Flourish.
  • Video: A Reflection on Earth Day. This video (1:34) includes captivating moving imagery of nature interspersed with three timely quotes of Pope Francis from his U.S. and recent Mexico visits.
  • Earth Day Reflection Card. Quoting Pope Francis, this card provides an inspiring image as well as a prayer on the backside. It is available for order from CHA. (The card is no cost and includes complimentary shipping.)
  • Three educational videos on the themes of Pope Francis' encyclical, Laudato Si'.
